    Senator David Jimkuta, representing Taraba South Senatorial District, has expressed frustration that 19 senators were denied landing permits at the Kashimbilla airport in Taraba. The senators were invited to attend Jimkuta’s Senatorial Empowerment Programme in Wukari, Taraba, where he donated assorted items to his constituents .

    According to Jimkuta, the senators were selected by the Senate to accompany him and witness the empowerment programme. However, their visit was thwarted when the Kashimbilla airport was temporarily shut down, despite Jimkuta completing all necessary procedures to fly in.

    As the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Area Councils, Jimkuta emphasized that the visit would have allowed the senators to understand the needs of the state and provide support. Unfortunately, the situation prevented the senators from attending the programme.

    Jimkuta also took the opportunity to advise the beneficiaries of the empowerment programme not to sell their equipment, emphasizing the importance of utilizing the resources provided to improve their lives.
