Marabouts Flown from Senegal for Me to Become Gov, but I Refused — Diri

Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, has made a shocking revelation about his journey to becoming governor. While speaking at the Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government Area Annual Day of Thanksgiving, Diri disclosed that a senior citizen had invited him to Abuja and offered to fly in marabouts from Senegal to perform rituals that would guarantee his victory in the governorship election.

However, Diri declined the offer, stating that his faith in God would not allow him to engage in such practices. The senior citizen, who had spent $10,000 to transport the marabouts, demanded a refund, which Diri paid. Despite the prediction that he would never become governor, Diri’s faith in God proved otherwise.

Diri emphasized the importance of trusting in God rather than in man, citing his own experience as a testament to God’s faithfulness. He encouraged politicians to learn from his story and put their trust in God.
