The Federal High Court in Abuja has granted bail to 10 protesters who were charged with treason-related offenses connected to the #EndBadGovernance protests . The protesters were arraigned on September 2 and pleaded not guilty to the charges, which include treason, intent to destabilize Nigeria, conspiracy to commit felony, and inciting mutiny . Justice Emeka Nwite granted the bail on Wednesday, September 11, after considering the oral applications made by the defendants’ lawyers .

The defendants, arraigned on September 2, pleaded not guilty to six charges, including plotting war and attempting to overthrow President Bola Tinubu. Their lawyers argued that the evidence does not support the treason allegations, which include:
· Inciting mutiny
· Destabilizing Nigeria
· Waging war against the state
· Attacking police officers
· Burning police stations
· Destroying properties
Counsel for the defendants urged the Federal Government to reconsider the charges, noting that 49 additional protesters remain detained at Kuje Correctional Centre under court order. The trial has been adjourned until September 27.”
