Jude Okoye and his company, Northside Music Limited, face a seven-count charge, including allegations of laundering N1.38 billion, $1 million, and £34,537.59. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) accused Jude of diverting music royalties meant for his brothers, including $767,544.15, £34,537.59, $133,566.49, and $118,652.20 for personal use.
Jude was initially granted bail set at N100 million after pleading not guilty on February 26, 2025. For fresh charges, Jude was granted another bail of N50 million, which he had initially been unable to meet.
After his release, Paul Okoye shared videos of Jude leaving prison and reuniting with family on Instagram, writing, “Jude is finally out after 2 months + all their efforts to frustrate his bail has finally collapsed. Welcome home brother @judeengees And happy birthday”. Peter Okoye had testified against Jude, recounting their strained business relationship and alleging Jude funneled millions of dollars into a secret company.
