Ayomide Adeleye, a 23-year-old philosophy student at Olabisi Onabanjo University, has admitted to killing 18-year-old Christiana Idowu, an Industrial Training student at Yaba College of Technology.
Adeleye, now in police custody, cited financial difficulties as the motive behind the murder. He lured Idowu to his residence under the pretense of repairing her phone and then strangled her.
Afterward, Adeleye buried Idowu’s body in a shallow grave and demanded ransom from her mother, extorting N360,000. His capture was facilitated by tracing his SportyBet account, where he had uploaded his National Identification Number.
Adeleye expressed remorse for his actions, stating, “I regret what I did… I deserve death, honestly.” He is currently facing justice for his crimes.
