A tragic incident occurred in Ikorodu, Lagos, on Friday, October 4, when a six-month pregnant woman, Olajumoke, was allegedly stabbed to death by her husband, Olaniyi. The suspect had accused his wife of infidelity, claiming that one of his brothers was responsible for the pregnancy.
Neighbors revealed that Olaniyi had previously attacked Olajumoke in her mother’s presence, and had been accusing her of promiscuity. Despite efforts by Olajumoke’s mother to intervene, including taking Olaniyi to church for deliverance prayers, the situation escalated.
Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the arrest and stated that Olaniyi stabbed Olajumoke during a domestic dispute, locked her in the room, and set it ablaze. He also inflicted wounds on himself.
