Obama Joins Harris’ Campaign Trail in Crucial Swing State

Former US President Barack Obama is joining forces with Kamala Harris in Pennsylvania, a crucial swing state, to boost her campaign against Donald Trump. Today, Obama will lead a rally in Pittsburgh, kicking off a month-long tour of battleground states, where he’ll urge early voting ahead of the November election.

Harris, meanwhile, is heading to Nevada and Arizona to engage with Latino voters, and has also participated in a virtual briefing on Hurricane Milton, which hit Florida overnight. Trump has intensified his attacks on Harris and President Joe Biden over their hurricane response, which Biden has dismissed as false claims.

The economy remains a key concern in the election, with US consumer inflation easing last month, but slightly less than anticipated. Trump’s campaign has criticized Harris’s economic policies, saying they harm Americans.

In a significant move, Harris has confirmed her participation in a CNN town hall on October 23 in Pennsylvania, after Trump declined a final televised debate with her. Democrats are counting on Obama to energize Harris’s campaign in this closely contested race.
