The National Orientation Agency (NOA) is urging all Nigerians to adopt the newly approved national anthem, “Nigeria, We Hail Thee”, to foster unity and patriotism among citizens. The Director General of NOA, Lanre Issa-Onilu, made this call during a press conference in Lafia, Nasarawa State, where he emphasized the importance of embracing the new anthem as a symbol of national unity and identity.
The federal government approved the new national anthem to give citizens hope for a better future, and it’s expected to be rendered at all official functions, with the three stanzas reserved for special occasions like Independence Day and Democracy Day ¹.
Key Initiatives to Support Citizens
To mitigate the effects of the petroleum subsidy removal, the federal government has introduced several measures, including:
- Food Security Initiatives: N155 billion to support food security
- Nano Business Support: N50 billion in conditional grants
- Conditional Cash Transfers: N25,000 to 15 million vulnerable households ¹
The NOA will conduct sensitization campaigns across Nasarawa State’s 13 local government areas to educate citizens on the national anthem’s significance and the National Values Charter . This initiative aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s agenda of “building Nigerians to build Nigeria”.
By embracing the new national anthem, Nigerians can demonstrate their patriotism and love for the country, promoting unity and social cohesion.
