Nigerian Army Bids Farewell to Late Major General Seidu Inaboya Musa

The Nigerian Army gathered to pay their respects to the late Major General Seidu Inaboya Musa, Director of Legal Services, during a solemn ceremony at the National Military Cemetery in Abuja on Thursday, October 10, 2024.

The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, joined senior officers, colleagues, sympathizers, family, and friends to honor the memory and remarkable service of the late general. General Lagbaja acknowledged Major General Musa’s invaluable contributions to the military legal system and his unwavering dedication to duty, which will forever be etched in the institutional fabric of the NA.

Major General Ohwohigho Akpor, Chief of Administration (Army), described the late officer as brilliant, diligent, resourceful, and meticulous, possessing vast experience and an ability to impart knowledge with overwhelming moral standards. General Akpor praised Major General Musa’s commitment to national service and his remarkable efforts to train personnel within the Directorate of Army Legal Services.

A Life of Service

Major General Seidu Inaboya Musa was born on May 4, 1968, in Okpella, Etsako East Local Government Area of Edo State. He was granted Direct Regular Commission as a member of the National Guard on September 25, 1993, and rose steadily to the rank of Major General. Until his passing on September 23, 2024, he served as the Director of Legal Services (Army).

Tribute and Honors

The burial ceremony included the presentation of the national flag to the deceased officer’s next of kin by the Chief of Army Staff, represented by Major General Abdulsalami Ibrahim, Chief of Policy and Plans (Army). The ceremony also featured a 21-gun salute and the laying of wreaths in honor of the late general. The interment was attended by principal staff officers from the Defence and Army Headquarters, retired and serving senior military officers, and prominent members of the bar.
