Folake Odusiga, the first female Chairman of the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers (NIESV) Abuja branch, has called for increased representation of women in leadership positions. Odusiga, who was recently inaugurated as the 13th chairman and first female president of the Abuja branch, emphasized the need to recognize and empower women in all aspects.
She highlighted the unique strengths women bring to leadership roles, stating, “When a woman is in leadership, the role of a woman is more significant when you compare it with that of a man.” Odusiga’s vision includes:
- Encouraging younger generations to explore the profession
- Bridging the gap between public and private sectors
- Empowering women to take on leadership roles
Odusiga’s leadership aims to inspire other women to engage actively within the institution and challenge the status quo. Her inauguration marks a significant milestone in NIESV’s history, paving the way for future generations of women leaders.
