A recent military operation in Northern Nigeria has resulted in significant losses for terrorist groups, with 96 terrorists killed and 227 suspects arrested, including a top commander. The arrested commander, Usman Maisaje, is a close associate of the wanted terrorist leader Kachalla Boka and has been providing valuable intelligence to troops.
Additional Successes
The military also recorded successes in the South-South region, where troops recovered crude oil worth N712 million and arrested 45 suspected oil thieves. Furthermore, 71 sophisticated weapons and 1,463 ammunition were recovered. In addition, 60 illegal refining sites were destroyed, along with four dugout pits, 48 boats, and 38 storage tanks.
The Director of Defence Media Operations, Maj. Gen. Buba Edward, confirmed these successes in a statement, highlighting the effectiveness of the military’s efforts against terrorism in the region.
