Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has approved the new minimum wage of N70,000, as announced by the Federal Government of Nigeria. This development was confirmed by the Honourable Commissioner for Finance, Dr. Hauwa Nuru, in a statement released on Saturday evening.
The approved wage will take effect immediately from October 2024 and will cover all public servants in Kwara State, including those in the 16 local government areas. This move is a result of a successful tripartite meeting between government representatives, labour leaders, and private sector representatives.
