Modernization of Nigeria’s Border Security Infrastructure Underway

The Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Kemi Nandap, has announced the modernization of Nigeria’s border security infrastructure. During a recent tour of immigration commands in Lagos, Ogun, and other South-West states, Nandap highlighted progress made in enhancing border management systems.

Nandap met with key stakeholders, including the Oba of Lagos, the Executive Governor of Lagos State, and the Governors of Ogun State, to stress the importance of sustained synergy among stakeholders in combating cross-border crimes. She also held a joint security meeting with sister agencies to enhance collaboration in intelligence gathering and sharing.

The modernization effort is part of the NIS’s drive to boost its effectiveness and efficiency in managing Nigeria’s borders. This initiative is crucial in addressing the changing realities and new challenges of migration in the country.
