A 15-year-old schoolgirl in Delta State, Emmanuella Monday, has made a shocking allegation that her biological mother, Mrs. Eunice Asulie, is attempting to force her into child prostitution. Emmanuella, a Senior Secondary School 2 student at Triumphant School in Effurun, claimed her mother has been taking her to meet men for sexual exploitation.
Alleged Abuse and Escape
Emmanuella recounted her ordeal, stating that her mother took her to Beeland Hotel on Orhuworun Road, where she was left with an unknown man. She managed to escape when the man went to take a bath and sought refuge with a friend’s family.
School and Human Rights Intervention
Emmanuella reported the incident to her teacher, who notified the school management. The proprietress, Mrs. Magareth Oghuvwu, contacted law enforcement and human rights groups. Human rights activist Comrade Ighorhiohwunu Aghogho petitioned the Delta State office of the National Human Rights Commission, seeking justice for Emmanuella.
Police Investigation
The incident was reported to Ovwian Police Station, with Inspector Esther Obukowho assigned as the Investigating Police Officer. Emmanuella has been taken into police protection custody pending the outcome of the investigation.
