    Abdullahi Ganduje, National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has made a bold declaration that Rivers State will soon become an APC stronghold. This statement was made during the official return of Dr. Dawari Ibietela George, the 2023 governorship candidate of the Action Alliance (AA), to the APC in Abuja.

    Ganduje expressed optimism about rebuilding and repositioning the APC in Rivers State, emphasizing the party’s commitment to serving the people of the state and Nigeria. He described George as a “big fish” and a skilled politician who will play a pivotal role in securing Rivers from the opposition.

    The APC National Chairman assured that a party structure would be established to accommodate George and other returnees. This development is significant, especially considering the recent tensions within the APC in Rivers State .

    Notable figures present at the APC National Headquarters included Chief Hon. Victor Giadom, Vice Chairman South-South, and former House of Representatives colleagues of Dr. George. Barr. Tonnie Anierohwom, the AA Deputy Governorship Candidate in Rivers State, also joined George in rejoining the APC.

    Before making the move official, Dr. George paid a courtesy visit to the National Chairman of the Action Alliance, Chief Ken Udeze, to inform him of his decision to return to the APC. Udeze praised George’s contributions to the development of the AA and commended him for the courtesy.
