  • Council secretariat requires total rebuilding.

Katsina-Ala Local Government Area in Benue has been severely affected by criminal activities, according to Chairman Justine Shaku. Over 20 schools, 23 markets, and 13 primary health clinics have been closed for more than a year, impacting eight council wards. This has significantly hindered agriculture, the primary source of livelihood for the community.

Chairman Shaku attributed the challenges to insecurity, which has crippled the local economy. However, with the Supreme Court granting autonomy to local governments, he is determined to rebuild and revitalize the community.

His administration will focus on rebuilding, rehabilitating, and resuscitating broken economic sectors, particularly health, education, roads, agriculture, and security. This aims to boost the council’s economy and reopen schools.

Chairman Shaku also highlighted the deplorable state of the council secretariat, describing it as an “eyesore” requiring total rebuilding. He is committed to delivering on his campaign promises and restoring the community’s infrastructure.
