Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has reaffirmed his commitment to protecting the state’s territory, ensuring that no part will be ceded to neighboring states. This assurance was made during a meeting with representatives of Ogun Waterside Local Government, comprising traditional rulers, technocrats, and government functionaries, at the Governor’s Office in Abeokuta.
Abiodun has taken note of reported incursions from Lagos and Ondo states and has taken steps to address the issue. He promised to provide adequate security to enable peaceful living for the people. Former Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Segun Awonusi, confirmed the governor’s commitment to safeguarding the state’s land.
Additionally, the governor plans to rehabilitate the Dau-Ibiade-Abigi-Efire-Makun-Ilisin road and restore electricity supply to areas that have been in darkness for three years. He also committed to building a naval base, with the groundbreaking ceremony scheduled to take place after the rainy season. The Deep Sea Port at Olokola is another project dear to the governor’s heart, and he has assured that he will work on it.
