Just 24 hours after his swearing-in, Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, ordered contractors to return to sites and immediately repair failed sections of roads within the Benin metropolis. During an inspection of Upper Mission Extension Road by Aduwawa Junction and the Ramat Park Axis in Benin City, Okpebholo expressed concern over the poor state of the roads.
The governor assured that work would commence immediately, emphasizing that Edo people deserve good, motorable roads. He stated, “During the campaigns, I promised to hit the ground running. Today, I ordered contractors back to the sites. We have no time to waste.” Okpebholo’s administration is committed to restoring hope for the people of Edo, in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda.
Governor Okpebholo was sworn in on October 12, alongside his deputy, Dennis Idahosa, and promised to prioritize road construction in his inaugural address.
