Ugo Ugochukwu, the 17-year-old son of Nigerian supermodel Oluchi Onweagba, has made history by winning the 2024 Macau Grand Prix! This talented young driver, representing R-ace GP, dominated the race from start to finish, leaving Olivier Goethe of MP Motorsport and Noel León of KCMG IXO by Pinnacle Motorsport in second and third place .

What’s even more impressive is that Ugochukwu is the first American driver to win the prestigious Macau Grand Prix in over 40 years . Born in New York to Oluchi, a Nigerian fashion model, and Luca Orlandi, an Italian fashion designer, Ugochukwu has already made a name for himself in the racing world .

He started kart racing at a young age and has been dubbed the next Lewis Hamilton . With this win, Ugochukwu has secured his spot in the FIA Formula 3 world championship in 2025 . When asked about his victory, Ugochukwu credited his resilience and confidence, saying, “I was pushing the whole way, but I was confident in the pace… I’m super happy to finally get the job done” .
