Imo State has just received a huge reward from the World Bank – a whopping $4 million (approximately N6.8 billion) for its outstanding performance in promoting good governance and accountability in doing business within the state. Declan Emelumba, the State Commissioner for Information, Public Orientation and Strategy, Imo State was one of only four states in Nigeria to qualify for the reimbursement under the World Bank’s State Action on Business Enabling Reforms (SABER) program .
