Ogun State Police Command Seeks Justice for Slain 17-year-Old Student

The Ogun State Police Command has initiated a comprehensive investigation into the kidnapping and murder of 17-year-old secondary school student, Habeebah Akinsanya. The victim was abducted on Friday and tragically found dead on Sunday.

Contrary to initial reports, the police clarified that Habeebah’s father, Mr. Akinsanya Aremu, paid N30,000 to the abductors, not N1 million. The payment was made into a Moniepoint account provided by the kidnappers, with the intention of tracing and apprehending the perpetrators.

According to eyewitnesses, Habeebah was seen entering a farm with one of her father’s farm workers, where her body was later discovered. The police are working to apprehend those responsible for her murder.

The Divisional Police Officer of Kemta Division, CSP Olawale Famobuwa, disclosed these details after receiving authorization from the State Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alamutu. Famobuwa stated that the case was initially reported as a missing person on Friday at 9:30 pm, when Habeebah’s father reported that she had disappeared after being invited for a transaction while helping her sister with a Point of Sale business.
