denounced the attack, saying 30+ people are missing and the village was razed to the ground.

Amnesty International has unequivocally condemned the devastating attack by Boko Haram insurgents on Mafa village in Yobe State, which resulted in the loss of at least 83 lives. This incident, which occurred on Sunday evening, is a stark illustration of the Nigerian government’s failure to ensure the safety and security of its citizens.

According to Amnesty International, the attack has also left 30 individuals unaccounted for, with fears that they may have succumbed to the violence. The insurgents’ actions have also resulted in the destruction of the entire village and surrounding farmlands, with reports of elderly individuals being killed due to their inability to flee.

Furthermore, an undisclosed number of people injured during the attack are currently receiving medical attention in nearby hospitals. The organization has emphasized that this incident demonstrates Boko Haram’s blatant disregard for human life and the Nigerian authorities’ inability to protect citizens and their properties.

The aftermath of the attack has seen neighboring villages deserted, as residents flee in search of safety. Amnesty International’s strong condemnation of this incident serves as a stark reminder of the urgent need for the Nigerian government to take decisive action to address the ongoing security crisis.
