Confirmed outbreak of waterborne illness kills seven people and several others hospitalized in Kirikasamma Local Government Area in Jigawa.
The outbreak has spread across multiple communities including Malori, Makintari, Kirikasamma and other parts of Baturiya Village.
Abdullahi Diladige ,primary health care coordinator of Karikasamma Local Government Area, has confirmed an outbreak of waterborne illness in the community. Affected individuals are exhibiting symptoms including diarrhea, vomiting, nausea and fever.
In response to the a crisis, a team of health personnel has deployed to the affected areas to provide medical assistance, as reported by Muhammad Maisamari , Head of the Department of water and sanitation.
Idris Gambo Abubakar Director of Administration and General Services has pledged the Local Government’s Commitment to providing all necessary assistance to contain the spread of the disease and mitigate its impact on communities “
