The Federal Government has announced plans to establish creative villages of arts in all states of Nigeria. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State shared this information after the 147th National Economic Council meeting. The Ministry of Arts, Culture, Tourism, and Creative Economy proposed the creation of historic sites, named “Renewed Hope Creative Villages,” to be transformed into creative hubs.

The ministry will collaborate with state governments to identify historic locations and integrate them into creative villages as one-stop shops. This initiative aims to prioritize the creative industry’s enormous potential, particularly in rural historic sites and monuments, to generate hundreds of thousands of jobs.
