The House of Representatives has announced plans to present a donation of N704.91 million to President Tinubu on December 31, 2024. This donation represents 50% of the Representatives’ salaries for six months, totaling N704,907,578.82.
The donation aims to support vulnerable Nigerians who have been affected by the removal of the petrol subsidy. In July, the House resolved to slash 50% of their salaries for six months to address the challenges faced by ordinary Nigerians.
Mr. Speaker addressed his colleagues during Thursday’s plenary, stating that the contributions made by the Representatives highlight their steadfastness and dedication to addressing the critical needs of Nigerians. The donation will be handed over to President Tinubu on December 31, 2024, for the exclusive use of vulnerable Nigerians.
