    That’s a really alarming number! According to recent reports, over 176 million Nigerians live in unclean environments . This is largely due to poor waste management and sanitation practices. In fact, only a few states, such as Akwa Ibom, Ebonyi, and Bauchi, have made significant progress in maintaining cleanliness .

    The report also highlights that 32 out of 36 states, including the Federal Capital Territory, are rated as unclean . This is a serious concern, as living in unclean environments can have severe health implications.

    It’s worth noting that the number of Nigerians living in unclean environments has been increasing over the years. In 2021, the number was around 172 million, and it increased to 176.3 million in 2022 .
