TikToker Olumide Ogunsanwo, popularly known as Seaking, has been granted bail in the sum of ₦500,000 with two sureties in the same sum by an Ogba Magistrate’s Court in Lagos. This comes after Seaking’s arrest on Saturday for allegedly posting a video on social media inciting attack on police officers .
According to the court’s ruling, one of the sureties must be a family member, while both sureties must reside in Lagos and be gainfully employed. Seaking’s lawyer, Inibehe Effiong, revealed that his client faced charges including treason, cyberstalking, and conduct likely to provoke a breach of peace.
The police had initially denied Effiong access to Seaking while he was held at the state police command in Ikeja. However, the legal team acted swiftly to intercept the proceedings and challenged the police’s request to detain Seaking for 30 days.
The court has adjourned the case to January 16, 2025, pending advice from the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
