Nigerian TikToker Olumide Ogunsanwo, popularly known as Seaking, has regained his freedom after fulfilling his bail conditions at Kirikiri Maximum Security Custodial Centre. His lawyer, Inibehe Effiong, confirmed the news on X (formerly Twitter), attributing the delay in perfecting Seaking’s bail to the Christmas and New Year holidays, as well as administrative challenges.

Seaking’s troubles began on December 20, 2024, when he was arrested by the police for alleged treason and cyberstalking over a viral TikTok video criticizing the police. He was taken to the Ogba Magistrate Court in Lagos on December 23, 2024, where he was granted bail instead of being remanded for 30 days.

Effiong, along with activist Omoyele Sowore and others, played a crucial role in securing Seaking’s release from the facility. Seaking’s case highlights the challenges faced by social media influencers and content creators in Nigeria, who often find themselves at odds with authorities over their online content.
