FG Partners China to Boost Military Equipment Production

The Federal Government has announced plans to collaborate with China in domesticating the production of military equipment in Nigeria. This move aims to eliminate reliance on foreign countries and avoid delays in procuring military equipment.

According to Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, the partnership will enable Nigeria to produce military equipment locally, both kinetic and non-kinetic. This will reduce the country’s dependence on foreign countries for military procurement, which often involves delays and stringent rules.

The partnership is also expected to promote economic growth by generating employment opportunities and stimulating local industries. Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs emphasized the importance of working with countries like China to address security challenges and promote regional stability.
