  • Party staff are anxious about their safety, hoping that the deployment of security officials will deter troublemakers.

The PDP secretariat staff are on edge as the party resumes activities, with the leadership crisis between Sen. Samuel Anyanwu and Sunday Ude-Okoye reaching a boiling point. Despite the Appeal Court’s judgment affirming Ude-Okoye as the national secretary, Anyanwu insists on remaining in office, citing a pending appeal at the Supreme Court.

The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, has announced Ude-Okoye as the national secretary, stating that the party is bound by the Appeal Court’s judgment. However, Anyanwu’s refusal to vacate office has created uncertainty and fear among party staff.

Former Senate President and Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Senator Adolphus Wabara, has advised the NWC to obey the Appeal Court’s judgment and comply with the rule of law. Wabara emphasized that the execution of the judgment cannot be stayed, but only challenged in a superior court.

As the situation unfolds, party staff are anxious about their safety, hoping that the deployment of security officials will deter troublemakers. The leadership crisis has raised concerns about the party’s ability to function effectively, with many calling for a resolution to the dispute.
