A businessman was recently arrested by(NDLEA) at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos for possessing 700g of cocaine

    A 50-year-old Nigerian businessman, who’s been living in Brazil for 35 years, has been detained by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for allegedly importing 700g of cocaine into Nigeria.

    The suspect was arrested at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos upon his return from Sao Paulo, Brazil. A body scan revealed that he had concealed the cocaine in his stomach.

    After being placed under observation, he expelled 29 wraps of substances that tested positive for cocaine. The suspect claimed he bought the cocaine to resell in Nigeria and raise capital for his business.

    This arrest is part of the NDLEA’s ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking in Nigeria.
