A Federal High Court in Abuja has granted Olamide Thomas, who allegedly threatened Seyi Tinubu and the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, with a death threat on social media, a N10 million bond with one surety in like sum .
Justice Emeka Nwite made this ruling after carefully examining the affidavit evidence of both Thomas and the complainant. He stated that there was no concrete evidence to suggest that Thomas would jump bail.
The judge ordered the surety to provide a three-year tax clearance certificate and reside within the court’s jurisdiction. Additionally, Thomas and the surety must deposit two recent passport photographs with the registrar of the court, and the surety’s address must be verified.
Thomas was arraigned on December 20 and remanded at Suleja Correctional Centre after pleading not guilty to the three-count charge. The case has been adjourned until February 18 for trial .
