Tension is running high in the Isinkan community, Ondo State, after suspected land grabbers, allegedly acting on the orders of the Deji of Akureland, disrupted an ongoing housing project. The intruders, about ten in number, stormed the site in a convoy, chased away workers, and destroyed equipment .
According to the Secretary of the families owning the land, Mr. Akin Akinwumi, the property has been in their family for over 500 years, granted to their forefathers by the Iralepo of Isinkan. The land was sold to PWAN Homes Ltd. as part of a development project, but the developer reported that thugs from the Deji’s palace invaded the site.
The Iralepo of Isinkan, Oba Oluwagbemiga Olofin-Adimula, condemned the alleged disruption, urging the Ondo State Police Command to investigate and bring the culprits to justice. However, the Deji of Akureland, through his Chief Press Secretary, Michael Adeleye, dismissed the allegations as “false and wicked,” claiming that the palace does not condone or associate with thugs.
The dispute remains under investigation, with both parties maintaining their positions on the contentious property.
