    Adebayo Osayemi, a teacher, has been sentenced to two years imprisonment with hard labor for stealing his employer’s phone and money, totaling N237,000. The Chief Magistrate’s Court in Ibadan handed down the sentence after Osayemi pleaded guilty to the charges.

    According to the prosecution, Osayemi carefully monitored his employer’s movements before stealing €20 (N35,000) and a Techno Smart 4 phone valued at N95,000. He also transferred N107,000 from his employer’s bank accounts to his own accounts.

    The magistrate, Mrs. O.O. Latunji, stated that Osayemi’s conviction and sentencing were based on the evidence presented by the police and his guilty plea. Osayemi’s sentence comes without the option of a fine .
