A tragic incident occurred in Jos, Plateau State, on Friday morning, where an angry mob set two suspected cultists ablaze. The cultists had allegedly committed a daylight robbery in the Jenta Adamu community of Jos North Local Government Area .
According to eyewitnesses, the suspects used weapons to attack pedestrians and drivers, robbing them of phones and other valuables. The mob, enraged by the incident, chased the culprits, caught two, and set them on fire .
The Plateau State Police Command confirmed the incident, stating that they received a distress call about the mob action. The police condemned the act of jungle justice and cautioned citizens to hand over suspects to the authorities instead of taking the law into their own hands .
The police also recovered two locally fabricated pistols from the scene, believed to belong to the cultists. The burnt bodies of the suspects were evacuated and deposited at the hospital morgue.
