“The Arewa Youth Ambassadors, a northern-based group, has reiterated its commitment to proceeding with the planned protest scheduled for August 1, aimed at expressing its discontent with President Bola Tinubu’s policies, which it deems detrimental to the people.
In a statement signed by National Coordinator Yahaya M. Abdullahi in Abuja on Saturday, the group dismissed rumors of canceling the protest as “false and misleading.” The statement emphasized that the protest will proceed as planned, citing the need to address the escalating insecurity, food and fuel crises, unemployment, and high cost of living affecting the region and the country at large.
The group stressed that the protest is a necessary response to the government’s policies, which have led to widespread suffering and poverty. They urged the government to reconsider its policies, warning that failure to do so may lead to further unrest and potentially even revolution.
The Arewa Youth Ambassadors reaffirmed their commitment to peaceful protest, emphasizing their right as citizens to hold the government accountable for its actions.”
