Arewa Youths Hail Tinubu Over Increased NYSC Allowance

The Arewa Youths Awareness on Leadership and Election group has commended President Bola Tinubu for increasing the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) monthly allowance to N77,000.

This move is part of the implementation of the new national minimum wage, and the group considers it a timely decision, given the rising cost of living in Nigeria.

According to Khamis Darazo, chairman of the group, the increased allowance will help corps members cope with inflation, transportation fare hikes, electricity costs, and the removal of fuel subsidies. Darazo praised President Tinubu’s approval of the N77,000 allowance, stating that it shows the government’s sensitivity to the plight of Nigerians struggling with economic hardship.

Darazo emphasized that this gesture demonstrates President Tinubu’s commitment to empowering Nigerian youths and acknowledging their contributions to national development. He believes the increased allowance will boost the morale of corps members, motivating them to perform optimally during their service year.

The group acknowledged the Tinubu administration’s focus on citizens’ welfare, including corps members, and expressed gratitude for this laudable gesture. This development is seen as a positive step towards supporting Nigerian youths and mitigating the effects of economic challenges.
