Bandits have reportedly kidnapped six and abducted several others in Kallah Afogo community, Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
A devastating attack was carried out by bandits on the village of Kallah, resulting in the deaths of five locals: Garkuwa Alfarma, Buhari Maidiga, Uba Auta, Yakubu Gaku, and Atabata Naallah. The incident occurred on Sunday at approximately 11:15 p.m. The bandits broke into homes and abducted several villagers. A local resident who pursued the bandits into the bush was killed, and their body was mutilated.
In a separate incident, the bandits attacked Bakin Pah in Maro Ward, resulting in one fatality and the abduction of six individuals.
Maigari Ben, a local resident, has urged security agencies to enhance security measures in the affected communities and ensure the safe return of the abducted persons.
Additionally, bandits carried out a kidnapping incident at a Primary Health Care Centre in Kuyello, Birnin-Gwari Local Government Area, abducting two nurses and several patients. The state Police Command has yet to issue a statement regarding these incidents.
A local Vigilante ,Musa Alhassan ,said the bandits initially targeted the nearby Government Day Secondary School, arriving by 9a.m yesterday.
On [date], a group of bandits arrived at a school in [location] at approximately 9:00 a.m., inquiring about the students. Upon discovering the school was empty, they proceeded to a nearby healthcare centre, where they commenced a kidnapping operation.
The bandits, armed with guns and machetes, took two female nurses and an unknown number of patients hostage, causing widespread panic in the community.
According to eyewitness Alhassan, “The bandits forcibly removed people from the hospital, and we were unable to intervene.”
At the time of reporting, the Kaduna State Police Command’s spokesman had not responded to inquiries regarding the incident.
