- Agatu indigenes and Fulani herdsmen have agreed to end decades of hostilities in Benue state.
- A peace dialogue was held in Obagaji, Agatu Local Government Headquarters, to resolve the crisis.
- The leadership of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) pledged commitment to peaceful coexistence.
Note: The dialogue was initiated to end the decades-long crisis between the two communities, which had claimed thousands of lives and properties. The Agatu Local Government Chairman, Marvin Ejeh, set up a 14-member committee to consolidate the gains of the peace dialogue. Both parties agreed to forgive and forget the past, expose criminal elements, and tender apologies for wrongdoing.
