The mastermind behind the robbery was identified as Ayoade Akinnibosun, chairman of the Liberation Youth Movement in Kwara State. During investigations, Akinnibosun confessed to working for prominent politicians, including Bukola Saraki, the former President of the Nigerian Senate, and Ahmed Abdulfatai, the former Governor of Kwara State ¹.
