EFCC has withdrawn arrest warrant against Mercy Chinwo’s manager

    The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has withdrawn the arrest warrant against Ezekiel Thankgod, manager of gospel musician Mercy Chinwo. This decision comes after the EFCC’s lawyer, Bilikisu Buhari, requested the withdrawal in court .

    The arrest warrant was initially issued by Justice Alexander Owoeye last week, following an ex parte order from the EFCC. However, Ezekiel’s legal representative appealed, stating that his client was unaware of the previous summons and assured his voluntary appearance in court .

    As part of the agreement, the EFCC agreed to withdraw the warrant on the condition that Ezekiel honors future court appearances. The case has been adjourned to February 14, 2025, for arraignment. Ezekiel was accused of diverting $345,000 meant for Mercy Chinwo .
