Charles Awuzie, Nigerian-South African-based businessman and convener of the Evolve X Conference, has announced the launch of a $100 million Africa Tech Fund at the conference’s second edition, scheduled for September 27 in Lagos.
The fund aims to support African innovators from Nigeria, South Africa, Kenya, Ghana, Egypt, Zambia, and other African countries. Awuzie emphasized the need to convert rivalry among Africans into economic growth through strategic business mentorship and investment partnerships.
The Evolve Conference and Exhibition will provide a platform for:
- Knowledge exchange and innovative solutions
- Connecting industry leaders, mentors, and mentees
- Cross-border collaborations and funding mechanisms
- Personal growth and skill enhancement
- Empowering individuals to lead transformational change
Industry leaders, entrepreneurs, celebrities, tech enthusiasts, policymakers, and young professionals are expected to attend. The conference will feature beauty queens, including Dr. Precious Chikwendu, 2014 Miss United Nations and Nollywood actress, as host.
CEO Ossai Ilome expressed confidence that the conference will serve as a beacon of progress, harnessing Africa’s vibrant potential. This may be the last time the conference is held in Nigeria, as organizers plan to rotate it across other African countries.
