FCCPC engages Air Peace, others over alleged consumer rights violation

    The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) has launched an investigation into several major companies in Nigeria, including Guaranty Trust Bank (GTB), MTN Nigeria, and Air Peace Limited.

    The FCCPC is looking into complaints of network failures at GTB that prevented customers from accessing their funds . They’re also investigating MTN Nigeria over issues with undelivered data services, unexplained data depletion, and poor customer care .

    Air Peace Limited is being scrutinized for allegedly charging exploitative ticket prices, including significant hikes for advance bookings on certain domestic routes .

    The FCCPC’s inquiry, which begins on December 3, 4, and 5, aims to address issues of poor service delivery, exploitative practices, and potential consumer rights violations . The companies will be required to appear before the Commission to provide information and responses to enable the Commission to make determinations and resolve pending issues promptly .
