The Federal Government has announced plans to train about 4,000 Nigerians in Information Communication Technology (ICT) and digital skills under the Renewed Hope Employment Initiative (RHEI). This initiative is part of the government’s effort to equip youths with emerging skills and make them globally competitive.
Additionally, 3,000 slots have been reserved for persons with special needs out of the 93,731 beneficiaries of the scheme. Each state, including the FCT, is expected to have 81 slots for persons with special needs.
The program also aims to provide tools, equipment, and startup capital to some beneficiaries, helping them become entrepreneurs. Discussions are ongoing with credit-granting institutions to ensure every beneficiary is supported.
The Renewed Hope Employment Initiative is designed to engage 93,731 unskilled and unemployed persons across Nigeria, with a focus on inclusiveness.
