  • Investing in Airport Modernization: Efforts will be intensified to invest in airport modernization and air navigation systems to enhance safety and efficiency.

    The Federal Government of Nigeria is strengthening its partnerships with global lessors and financiers to boost the country’s domestic airline growth and fleet renewal. According to Mr. Festus Keyamo, Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, the government aims to create a thriving aviation ecosystem that is globally competitive, inclusive, and resilient.

    To achieve this goal, Keyamo will lead a team to the “Boeing Lessor Forum” in Dublin, Ireland, from January 12 to 15. This event will be held alongside the “Airline Economics Growth Frontiers Global Conference” and will provide a platform for Nigeria to showcase its reforms and forge strategic alliances.

    The government is also committed to strengthening adherence to international protocols, including the “Cape Town Convention”, to boost investor confidence. Additionally, efforts will be intensified to invest in airport modernization and air navigation systems to enhance safety and efficiency.

    The “Cape Town Convention” provides creditors with internationally recognized rights in the event of a debtor’s default or insolvency, reducing risks for aircraft financiers and other parties involved in aircraft purchasing and leasing .
