A fire broke out on the 11th floor of the Ultimate Apartment in Ikoyi, Lagos, but thankfully, the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) responded quickly and rescued the occupants. The agency received a distress call at 22:16 on Friday and immediately activated its response teams from Lekki, Onipan, and the Command and Control Centre in Alausa .
Upon arrival, LASEMA found the eleven-storey building engulfed in flames, with the fire originating from a room on the 11th floor. Although the immediate cause of the fire couldn’t be determined, the response teams worked efficiently to prevent the fire from spreading to other apartments.
While tackling the blaze, the teams also took the time to educate the occupants on the dangers of smoke during fire incidents. Fortunately, no casualties or injuries were reported, and the fire was eventually extinguished.
LASEMA’s prompt response and effective management of the situation are commendable, and it’s a relief that everyone involved is safe.
