A devastating fire broke out at Jincheng Company, a Chinese-owned recycling facility located on Eric Moore Road in the Surulere area of Lagos State. The incident occurred on Monday afternoon, prompting a swift response from the Sari-Iganmu Fire Station and the Ajegunle Fire Crew. According to eyewitnesses, the fire started at around 1 pm, and the first responders were quickly dispatched to the scene. The affected company, which operates on approximately three acres of land, specializes in recycling and has suffered significant damage to its raw materials.

The Director of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Margaret Adeseye, confirmed the incident and attributed the cause of the fire to negligence at the rear of the main building. The fire had ravaged a large quantity of cartons used as raw materials, worth millions of naira. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported, and the situation is currently under control. Damping down operations are ongoing to ensure the fire is completely extinguished. The incident has caused pandemonium in the area, and the full extent of the damage is still being assessed.
