A massive fire broke out at Aleshinloye market in Ibadan, Oyo State, destroying properties worth millions of Naira. The General Manager of Oyo State Fire Service, Mr. Yemi Akinyinka, confirmed the incident and stated that firefighters are still working to contain the situation .
The fire service has expressed gratitude to SWEETCO and Sumal for their support in battling the blaze. Mr. Akinyinka mentioned that the management cannot respond to individual questions at the moment due to logistical constraints.
This isn’t the first time Aleshinloye market has experienced a fire outbreak. A similar incident occurred in 2014, causing significant damage and loss of property .
The cause of the current fire outbreak is yet to be determined, but it’s clear that the market’s traders and shop owners have suffered a significant blow.
