Udoh Blessing, a perturbed customer, shared, “I’ve been noticing debit alerts… saying it’s for QS with some digit including my phone number/MTN: USSD Something Something. What’s that for please? I didn’t recharge via the line and keep receiving debit alerts of #200, 139, 34, 100 and so on.
“In response to the customers’ concerns, First Bank advised them to check their Direct Message (DM) for the bank’s response. The automated message from the bank reads:
Hey there! First Bank has requested that you provide your account number, amount, and date of the transactions to help them investigate and assist you better. For urgent help, you can log a dispense error or contact FirstContact at 0700FIRSTCONTACT, +234 708 062 5000, or +234 2 01448 5500. It’s important to report any suspicious transactions promptly for resolution.
