The Africa Nature Investors Foundation has empowered 1,500 women and trained an additional 3,000 in agribusiness in Toungo Local Government Area, Adamawa State. The foundation aims to protect national parks from poaching by providing alternative sources of income for community members.
The training and empowerment programs focus on agriculture, livestock, and other livelihood activities. The foundation has supported over 1,500 women through savings and loans groups in Adamawa and Taraba states. In partnership with Nuru Nigeria, the foundation targets 3,000 beneficiaries in various agribusiness sectors.
The program aims to build resilience and mitigate shocks in women during crises, addressing climate change, knowledge gaps, and resource gaps. High-yielding seedlings and financial support have been provided to over 1,500 women to start their agribusiness. The foundation’s efforts align with the Federal Government’s declaration of a state of emergency on food security.
